The building of the “Old University” (Alte Universität in German) dates back to the beginning of the University of Basel in 1460. Nowadays, the various faculties of the University are dispersed throughout Basel. From 1935 through 1962, Karl Barth held seminars at the Old University building on Rheinsprung.
